Are you struggling with modern languages,
academic publications in foreign languages
or ancient languages, like Latin?
Do you need to know some basics for your research project at university? Are you struggling with grammar or vocabulary? Or you need to understand that special academic, scientific jargon in French or German for your discipline? are you worried about your Latin exams?
Being fluent in several modern languages as well as Latin (and Greek), we can certainly assist you with a range of languages and whatever your linguistic knowledge is like.
Do you need an intensive course to use scholarly material only available in another language? Just some help to understand the basics? Or do you need to improve your knowledge of grammar?
We can do a personalised one-to-one lesson for you, tailored to your needs, or perhaps a weekly course in a group. Whether face-to-face or via skype, we aim to assist you, especially when dealing with German, French, English and Latin; other languages are possible, too.
Just let us know what you need. But remember, we are not really offering a translation service as such. The main aim is to improve your skills and show you how to excel in your studies.

Links to language resources and online dictionaries
Remember that you will hardly ever find a one-to-one equivalent for a word in another language. Some online dictionaries can help you to check out the diverse meanings and connotations of words in order to chose the right one for your task.
- Wordreference.com is a very powerful language tool that helps you to check Language resources,
- Leo.org is another useful dictionary, esp. for English-German, French-German translations
- If you are interested in Latin and Greek, try out the perseus lexicon that provides further links to online-versions of traditional dictionaries. You can even enter a Latin or Greek word in a declined or conjugated form. Worth a try!
