_____________ I'm an ancient historian and archaeologist who studied at the University of Frankfurt and at University College London where I was awarded the MA in Archaeology in 1992 and the PhD in Ancient history & Archaeology in 1997 for my work on the cultural transformation of ancient north-west Italy. I've taught at several universities in Britain and Germany, notably at the University of Oxford, UWTSD Lampeter and the University of Osnabrück. My approach is always interdisciplinary, combining archaeological and historical approaches with sociological and anthropological models. Among my ongoing research projects, I work on several books on Celtic and Romano-Celtic religion(s) in pre-medieval Europe, another one on social memory in the Roman empire, on the sacred landscapes in southern Gaul, and finally a project on 'globalisation' in the ancient world.
